Telangana, Gujarat Among Five Indian States Called Out By PM Modi For Low COVID-19 Testing

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called out Telangana, Gujarat, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal for low testing rates for coronavirus as he interacted with chief ministers of 10 states on the handling of the epidemic situation.


The five states named by Modi for low testing have averages ranging from 9,180 tests per million of Bihar to 16,787 of Telangana. Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat have conducted 14,266, and 14,973 tests per million while West Bengal stands at 11,683.
